■Confocal Raman Imaging in Life Science − Living Cells, Bacteria & Tissues
In biomedical research chemical Raman imaging is an excellent alternative for nondestructive chemical imaging without requiring specific labeling. This note describes the application of Confocal Raman Imaging to the study of living cells in their physiological surroundings. In addition, bacteria and their intercellular compartments were imaged on the single cell level. In order to show the potential of Raman for the investigation of tissues, a hamster brain cross-section and histopathological breast cancer tissue were characterized.
